Healthcare/ICU/Theatre Decontamination and Testing
Healthcare professionals know the importance of a clean and sterile environment. Biosafety Pty Ltd offers many Healthcare Hygiene advantages for Medical Centres and Healthcare Facilities. We offer a multitude of services including our gaseous CD, the most effective way to decontaminate isolators, procedure rooms, and pass-throughs. Our CD sterilizers will effectively replace Ethylene Oxide (EtO) in many instances with an ambient temperature, highly effective sterilant gas that has exceptional process monitoring and control. Chlorine dioxide gas is effective against MRSA and VRE among a wide variety of other common organisms found in hospitals, ambulances, and other healthcare facilities.
Single room to entire facility decontamination
Service decontaminations are also available to facilities that require either one-time or routine decontaminations as well. Applications range from single rooms of any size to entire facilities, including HVAC ductwork and equipment, HEPA filter decontamination and NATA testing of ICU/OT Performance to DHHS Guidelines.
The right method for the best results
Hospital acquired infections (HAIs) and contamination control in the healthcare industry is a constant and prevalent problem and Biosafety offers many different techniques such as Chlorine Dioxide (CD) and Ultraviolet (UV) light products and services to enhance your facility's infection prevention program and provide solutions to these problems. Our suite of products is gentle on materials and is the safest and most effective way to decontaminate your operating and patient rooms, isolators, ductwork and biological safety cabinets.
We are also effective at remediating and removing Vancomycin-resistant enterococci (VRE), methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), and Clostridium difficile (C. diff) contaminations, three of the most common organisms affecting the healthcare industry.
Biosafety provides Infection Control Unit (ICU) and Hospital Theatre testing and is compliant with the various codes and standards. Whilst there is no overarching Australian standard strictly covering the testing of hospital theatres, there are various Department of Health and Human Services guidelines, Component Australian Standards and Codes of Practice that we adopt for a best practice robust approach.
Typically Testing of Infection Control Units:
1. Pressure Differential Testing and gauge check
2. Airflow Direction Testing (Door Open)
3. Operational Directional Airflow Testing
4. AIr Flow Visualization testing
5. Air Changes per Hour (ACH)
6. Supply and Exhaust Air Volumes
7. Thermal Comfort/Indoor Air Quality Testing
8. Supply and Exhaust HEPA Integrity Testing to AS 1807.6/7 (where fitted)
