Creating safe and healthy work environments through biological safety consulting and services.
Controlled environments - healthcare, research, life science and pharmaceuticals.
Brett Cole from Biosafety International was the first International Contributor to the US Technical Working Group on Decontamination for COVID-19 in early 2020. His involvement with this Group and others lead to the development of the CLEAN2020 Summit which ran from June to October 2020. Brett was an invited moderator and contributor as part of this Summit. The consensus at the end of the Summit was that the work started was just the beginning and a vision for an ongoing collaboration of participants was formed.
The Integrated Biosciences and Built Environment Consortium (IBEC) was formed in 2020 during the COVID-19 Global Pandemic and grew out of the CLEAN 2020 Summit with the collective view from contributors that there was a need for greater knowledge, consulting and sharing in the community. IBEC was established as a Consortium of Professionals and Academics from different disciplines. The ideology was to bridge the gap between proven scientific processes and real-world applications. This is achieved through Community, Collaboration and Consensus.
IBEC has since created programs that educate how to successfully mitigate transmission while educating the masses on safe protocols that really make a difference in stifling the unnecessary increase of numbers of COVID-19 cases. IBEC coordinate knowledge and information sharing including standards, policies and procedures applied to impact the modes of transmission in built spaces. Collective data into practice by transitioning research into practice in order to recover from biological incidents and to safely return to routine activities.
IBEC promote confidence, data-driven solutions along with innovative technologies in the implementation of control and management practices to reduce viral transmission. IBEC is a looking at collaborating with other liked-minded and learned associations to bring together a collective to review the Science, Knowledge, Best Practices and Standards to assist the community to navigate the everchanging environment caused by COVID-19 and other biological risks.
Brett and Biosafety International are proud to be part of IBEC and look forward to working with an amazing Group of Professionals moving forward to achieve a safer built environment in which to live, work and play.
